Electrolysis vs. Laser Hair Removal – Which Method is better?

When a man makes the decision to have hair removed from his body for good, there are two methods that can be used. It will many times simply come down to a choice of electrolysis vs. laser hair removal. Both of these methods have their advantages as well as their disadvantages. It will just be a matter of which one works the best for a particular situation.

The first method which is electrolysis has been used for close to one hundred years, this is many times the more common of the two and it has proven results. Almost any type of hair can be removed when using this type of method. The drawback is that a lot of times it requires multiple trips to have everything removed for good. The other drawback to this is the fact that many times this will become expensive as you have to make multiple trips to the doctor for the process to complete.

Laser hair removal is a procedure that is a newer on the market. Many people are just starting to hear about this procedure. There is still some research that will need to be done so you fully understand all the benefits. The one thing that is known is that this procedure works best on hair that is dark and belongs to a person that is fairly light skinned. There is a problem with people that is dark skinned using this method. This problem can appear many times when the laser hits the pigment located in the skin. Sometimes a “bleaching” of the skin will develop.

Both these methods are safe for a person to undergo; there are remarkably few risks that are associated with either one of these methods. There is a factor that you need to keep in mind when it comes to pain. Laser hair removal is less painful than its counterpart. This as a result means that while there is still pain associated with laser removal, it is less than the pain associated with electrolysis.

While electrolysis is expensive and requires several trips to the doctor, it is cheaper than the laser hair removal option. This is double the price and can be completed within one or two sessions for small areas, such as for example the upper lips in a face cosmetic procedures. If you have the choice, the first option should be to go with the electrolysis method. This will save you money in the end when it comes to getting rid of unwanted hair off of the body.

Both methods have advantages and disadvantages, it will be up to you when the time comes to make the decision that you will be happy with in the long run. Body hair is a problem that can lead a person to getting rid of it for good, regardless if it is on the head or on a person’s chest, they want it gone for good and for it  never to come back.
